Calendar for the Paris Blues Society 2008 July Thursday, July 17 - Blue Thursday blues jam. Buffalo Joe's Pub in Paris, Texas. The jam starts around 7 pm. Blue Thursday blues jams are held the third Thursday of each month. Date TBA - Paris Blues Society Board of Directors meeting. August Thursday, August 21 - Blue Thursday blues jam. Buffalo Joe's Pub in Paris, Texas. The jam starts around 7 pm. Blue Thursday blues jams are held the third Thursday of each month. Look for the Paris Blues Society booth at the Lamar County Fair. September Thursday, September 18 - Blue Thursday blues jam. Buffalo Joe's Pub in Paris, Texas. The jam starts around 7 pm. Blue Thursday blues jams are held the third Thursday of each month. Date TBA - Paris Blues Society Board of Directors meeting. October Saturday, October 4 - Memphis or Bust 2008 Regional Blues Challenge Band competition. Buffalo Joe's Pub in Paris. The Paris Blues Society will once again be hosting a Regional Blues Challenge with the winners going to on to the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee in 2009. More details coming soon. Saturday, October 11 - Memphis or Bust 2008 Regional Blues Challenge Solo/Duo competition. location TBA. More details coming soon. Saturday, October 25 - The Paris Blues Society will once again have a booth at the Festival of Pumpkins in downtown Paris. November Thursday, November 20 - Blue Thursday blues jam. Location TBA. The jam starts around 7 pm. Blue Thursday blues jams are held the third Thursday of each month. December Thursday, December 18 - Blue Thursday blues jam. Location TBA. The jam starts around 7 pm. Blue Thursday blues jams are held the third Thursday of each month. The Paris Blues Society will have a Christmas party for its members in December. This month we will continue our Christmas basket program in which baskets of canned goods, toiletries and other necessities delivered to the needy elderly in our area. Date TBA - Paris Blues Society Board of Directors meeting. 2009 2009 promises to bring bigger and better events for Paris, Texas and the surrounding area. In addition to the regular Paris Blues Society blues jams, a Paris Blues Society banquet will be held in March with proceeds going toward a scholarship program for deserving music students in our area. We will again be participating again in Relay for Life to help fight cancer. Also in September 2009 the Paris Blues Society will present a Blues Festival with national level blues acts. The Paris Blues Society will once again be hosting a Regional Blues Challenge in October, with the winners going to on to the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee in 2010. We will be participating once again in the Festival of Pumpkins, Paris 4th of July parade and the Lamar County Fair. In December the Paris Blues Society will continue our Christmas basket program in which baskets of canned goods, toiletries and other necessities delivered to the needy elderly in our area.
